Hi... We need your help!!

If any of you were at Fridays' Reno show at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino ( on Sept. 24th) , you may or may not have noticed that Pat was not playing his favorite guitar. Right before the show that evening, while the Doobies crew were eating dinner, someone came backstage, walked onto the "secured" stage area and walked away with Pat's Custom Vallee Koa Strat guitar. We have no idea HOW he breached security, but somehow he pulled it off. We don't know much about him except he was seen on the security camera in a stairwell, carrying away Pat's beloved guitar. He looks to be in his 30's and was wearing biker clothing... (Tough one because there were 20,000 bikers in Reno this weekend for Street Vibrations. ) The police were called and a report has been filed, but so far nothing has turned up.

My heart is broken as this guitar was a surprise Christmas present for Pat from myself and my brother Joe Vallee, who built the guitar. It took him 3 years to make it and we're not sure if we'll ever see it again. Pat is upset beyond words. We can't believe someone would do something like this.

I know this is a long shot, but if anyone ever sees this guitar anywhere.. PLEASE let us know. It is not like any other guitars... it is one of a kind. We realize it's only a guitar to many, but it's been all over the world with Pat and is like an old friend.

There are a few pictures of Pat's guitar on Joe's webpage.. they are the top right 3 photos. One shows a close up of the head stock with Joe's "Flying V" logo.

The link is:

There is also another photo of it on the Doobies news page on our website.

Please let us know if anyone sees it... finds it at a pawn shop, sees it for sale at a guitar shop or for sale in a newspaper anywhere. ( Especially you in the Reno area). We will be posting a reward in a day or two if the police still can't find it. I will also be posting more information on the description of the person who took it and on the guitar itself. (I think Joe has some serial numbers on it and I will get that info out asap. )

I am so sorry to hear of this theft. As a guitarist, the instruments we play live and in the studio, are our best friends. And, especially one that was lovingly created is truly a sin! I will keep a watch, as I am in Southern California. Good luck! I hope you catch that creep!
