Well Not All Right
I had intended to post this on a momentuous anniversary in my life but got the date wrong I thought that it was April the sixth that I emigrated to Canada but no it was the second. Anyway it was well back in 1964. Incredible to realise that a full forty years has passed!!
This picture is scanned from my original slide on which I wrote on the mount
"St Lawrence River from TCA (now Air Canada) DC8 CF-TJK (yes I was a plane-spotter after my many years as a train-spotter!!

I guess the view of an icy St Lawrence river was a good preparation for the cool of a Montreal late winter day!!
Note the number one (Left outboard) Rolls-Royce Conway by-pass (turbofan) turbojet's silencer very reassuring since I was on my way to joining Rolls-Royce Canada for whom I worked until returning to England over five years later (I was there just long enough to qualify for Canadian citizenship

I know how you feel John! Next year,on June 30th I'll have been in Arizona 25 years! (Age 12 in 1980!) To put that in perspective, the top song in the nation when my family came here was,"Coming Up" (Live At Glasgow)-by Paul McCartney (featuring Wings.)

Y'know when people ask, where does the time go,you know what I say? "West!" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Get it? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

Been me,later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Right on Walter. You have reminded me to add
that on April 2nd 1964 as I left England indeed just as I passed into the walkway out to my DC8 jet my friend and I had to wait at a doorway to let Peter Paul and Mary pass throuogh first!! (harbinger of a new era in popular song). We were leaving an England that had been in the grip of Beatlemania then for nigh on a year
Once in Montreal it was amusing to use my friend's very good Sony radio to scan the airwaves of North America (just getting to grips with the Watchman's favo(u)rite group)
I used to reckon that as the Fab Four at that time only had a pair of albums issued
if you scanned long enough it was possible to hear every track somewhere or other!!
