I'll go with the first GG.

Simply put, GGII has a very good song selection, and some of the re-recorded songs are well worth having for the comparison, but GG is leaps and bounds ahead of any competition.

Same here, I really like the circle is small on GGII, but the original is the best.

Hi Brink!!!

I'm working tonight and had a few minutes to pop in. I'm actually doing three nights of penance. :D This is my first night back after some time off and I am wiped. The body hasn't adjusted yet.

Glad to see the site still here! :) I was trying to get in here Sunday and I couldn't!

Anyhow, just stopping in because i just came from next door to pick up my last paycheck! The Hotel Host is offically no more!! Yaaaaay!!! :D

Anyhow, this was a topic a way long time ago but I'll vote. Easy one too,Gord's Gold (1).

I really can't get into the remakes on 2,i do like the longer version of "The Pony Man" though but the original GG is still the best. ;)

GG vol 2 for me. its sort of a new album in its own right with the re-recordings. i love the stripped back, but cotemporary sound to it

This is a no-brainer for me : GGI

I thought the sound of GGII was muddled, and then was left pondering why 2/3 songs were left in their orignal form. GGII is definitely my least played Lightfoot album. It was a disappointment.

Memory ain't what it used to be , LOL As Bill said memory isn't was it used to be, I was listening to Circle but meant to type Hangdog Hotel Room.

Hmm, interesting. I recently compared the two Hangdogs during my daily train travels and couldn't come up with a definite preference. I sort of lean towards the original, but the GG II version has lots of merit. Same for Race Among The Ruins. Tough choice.

Now Endless Wire and Triangle should have been left well enough alone!

Jury's still out on High And Dry. :)

I liked the remake of Triangle...and the addition of If It Should Please You..but still have to go with GGI...first GL album(s) I ever heard... and it still has the power to captivate...

Hi David. THE CIRCLE IS SMALL wasn't on GG2. The remake was on the Endless Wire album and Songbook. :)
