Hello, if you'll go to the new site www.JohnPrine.net (http://www.JohnPrine.net)
and click on the Library of Congress webcast, this is a highly entertaining ninety minutes with John discussing songwriting and its craft, along with a few performances. At about fifty two minutes in, he talks about his impressions of Gordon. I highly recommend you watch the entire webcast, especially if you're a fan of John's. The new web site has been launched in anticipation of his forthcoming album Fair And Square, due the last week in April.
Enjoy.
Matthew

He's looking quite different in the pic on the home page than a few years ago when I saw him in Toronto. He was feeling pretty good after his neck surgery and treatments for the cancer he had. In the video he looks similar though! LOL

I'll be attending a "Night of John Prine" at Hugh's Room next Friday. Several of the performers in the Lightfoot Tribute shows will be singing Prine songs. Jory Nash, Jason Fowler, Dave Matheson and Suzie Vinnick are among some of them.

Sounds like a great night!

Prine says Lightfoots stuff sounds like it should be in the dictionary.. and he loves my other guy too - Kris K.

Thanks Matthew, That was indeed a delight.
JP has always occupied the rather crowded 2nd rung on my "ladder of favorite song writers".
His admiration for Lightfoot's work was surprising; I never would have guessed.
The tidbit about "Illegal Smile" confirmed my belief that I've taken a lot of things the wrong way along the way.

Thanks again,
RMD
