View Full Version : Thanks to Barry Keane
I doubt very much he will read this himself but as some of you know I'm a drummer myself and of course I have spent countless hours behind my set emulating him lol. I watched the Reno DVD again a couple of weeks ago and in one of the closeup shots of his snare drum I noticed he had a cloth sitting on the top of the snare, so I did the same thing.
I had read somewhere he uses a Pearl Snare, which is what I have but anyway I did a private graduation gig lastnight here at the house and everything went off without a hitch. Best part of all my snare sounded exactly like his! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You look like a natural! What is the deal with the cloth.
Having a cloth sitting at the 12 noon position on the snare drum dampens the snare drum and it also stops the constant buzzing that occurs when you hit any of the other instruments. Having the cloth actually improves the sound. That's why. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
