View Full Version : Forgive Me Lord
In this song, what "sin" was committed?

I'd say infidelity. Not the first time he wrote about that ... Interestingly, in the Songbook liner notes he doesn't say, but then he likes to leave it that way.
4/12. FORGIVE ME LORD
I recorded this two or three times, but I like this version best. Lenny Waronker never liked it. Around the time of this recording, I got involved with David Foster on the song "Anything For Love," which went off in another direction, so we decided to leave it off the album. I played it for years in concert, and listening to it now, I'm sort of surprised it never made it onto a record before this.

I thought it was just me and the answer was supposed to be pretty obvious. Thanks. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif (he didn't say in the songbook)

I can't believe a person could find this song unlikeable! If anything it's a song that should have topped the pop,AC,& country charts. It's certainly a song a lot of people can relate to and if it was meant for either Salute or East O.M.;it should have been included. As stated on DMD3's thread of most and least fave's,I really think this is one of the best rarities or unreleased tracks. Go figure! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/confused.gif Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Borderstone (Hello! :) )
I remember hearing this song at several of his concerts I have seen. When Thane Tierney at Rhino/Warners was compiling the Songbook box set I asked about this song, and not only did he say that the song was going to be included (as a previously unreleased track), he gave me a preview of the version they were going to use. What a great song. I am so glad it got to see the light of day.
