Jenney's Lighthead friend Don took this stunning picture of our hero and I reckon it is too good to remain hidden in a
limited circulation email so I have uploaded it to the MSN communities site and linked to here exactly as I described in my "quick and dirty" mini-tutorial that I added today on page 2 of the "Brit gordfest" topic at:-

Massey Hall 2005
As Jenney said in her email:-
"Here's a picture that Don took during one of the shows. I think this is one of my favorite pictures I've ever seen, and far better than any I've ever taken"

Wow, what a great shot. With the seat I had on Friday, I really regret not taking my camera with me :(

Thanks John for posting that, I still say that is one of the finest pictures I've ever seen.
Char, the camera police were after Don and I as well as you. The first three nights there were no problems, we even asked an usher if we could take pictures and she said as long as there was no flash. The last night however, the usher said that Gord had complained twice already about cameras. I have no idea if that is true or not, and it does seem odd as there were lots of flashes going off on the other side of the hall, but we felt properly chastised and stopped taking any!

That particular usherette seemed to be quite the bossy boots. She was ticked that I didn't need her to find my seat when I came into Massey. She said to stop taking pics. I said I had no flash. hesitation....she then said well he's complained about cameras. I was just about to snap one of her but she got up and left...
lol
There wasn't any announcement about flash photography or non flash photography.....
They were after Bru as well and took a camera from someone else.
maybe you should send the picture to EMP and see what they say... :)

That is a fantastic picture!! Reminds me of the way Gordon looked in the mid to late 80's. This picture speaks a thousand words. Great job!

I enjoyed the descriptions above of the bossyboots usherette
I got nabbed too in fact she tripped over at least 7 people in her haste to tell me off
she said "the performer had asked for no flash"
I protested that my flash was turned off.
the lady then spent the next 15/20 minutes using her flashlight to keep a check on my immediate section it must have been much more distracting for poor Gord than any number of flashes and made me feel like a POW being watched over by a goon in Stalag Luft 3!!memories of Steve McQueen in "The Great Escape"
At the concert's end the demure MaryAnn Hill sitting right behind us fessed up that she had used flash!!!
--- Anyway back to the pictures taken:-
Oops I almost forgot that Jenney emailed three more great pix by her friend Don so although I have not said anything to her again I feel they should be shared and am therefore displaying all three for you all to enjoy

as Jenney captioned it "Another winner"
Note that all three are exactly as received
and that I was especially grateful for the middle one as it has two nicely contrasting colo(u)rs and is therfore just what I needed for a project I have in mind which in due course you should be seeing quite a lot of
John Fowles
