MARIPOSA FOLK FESTIVAL

Gordon Lightfoot will headline the Mariposa Folk Festival when it returns July 7-9 to his hometown, Orillia, for the first time since 1963. He's on the Saturday night bill, July 8. The Travellers and Oscar Brand will be part of this year's lineup with Moxy Fruvous, The Arrogant Worms, Ragged But Right, Saskatchewan fiddler April Verch and children's performers Richard (Dicky Bird) Knechtel and Magoo.

I'd already made plans to attend Mariposa, just to see Gord. I'm even more excited now, knowing that Moxy Fruvous will be there. I've seen them in concert a couple of times before, and they're a blast!!! They differ a little from GL in style - that's for sure, but they do tell a good story!

I'll see if my husband wants to drive up on Saturday to see Gord - I don't know who all the other performers are so I am only interested in Gord. It's that same old obsession!

Hey, guys, I've never been to Mariposa, and I have no idea what the venue is like, but would it be feasible for us to somehow get together there?
