Showdown #8
Message to the Wind 5 A Minor Ballad 6

Well, we had our first tie until I broke it up with my own vote, but there wasn't too much passion for this match up. Showdown #7 caused much more of a stir. Corfid members seemed to be apathetic for the most part to the songs in Showdown #8. I thought that "A Minor Ballad" had a nicer melody and arrangement.

For Showdown #9, I've chosen two lesser known songs again. I'm interested to see what your comments will be about this match up. I can't put my finger on it, but these two songs seem musically connected to me. Here is your choice for #9. Which song do you enjoy the most:

Welcome to Try

or

If There's a Reason

Enjoy :)

If There is a Reason

Loving someone so much that you will let them go, for a chance at happiness, ultimately is true love.

"Welcome to Try" is an absolute all-time favourite. I Love the lyrics to this song. "use your imagination, try every trick in the book". No contest!

"If There's A Reason". A nice catchy number with the unusual line of,"..cause I've not known anyone like you, since I was a man."

I may have to re-listen to,"Welcome". It's been awhile.

Hey Borderstone
I think you mixed up your songs. You are thinking of "If You Need Me," not "If There's a Reason." You can revote if you'd like.

"If There's a Reason" is on the Endless Wire album. "If You Need Me" is on Dream Street Rose..(to clear up any confusion).

Welcome to Try, without hesitation. I really like the way the song ambles along.

Okay,we know which I'm voting fore basically.

You'll have to excuse my forgetting my songs,I've been working quite a bit since the "hotel season" has started up again and i haven't had time to do much of anything.

So,once again,"If There's A Reason". I think I'm running the 2 songs together somehow.

This is a showdown between two songs I dislike.

I absolutely hate Welcome to Try, with his angry slap at his kids and family, and screechy singing in a register 2High4Him.

If There's a Reason is also 2High, but it wins by default, IMO.
