Okay,I looked at the LP's track list on here for both to try and make a clear choice. Didn't help.

Turns out I really like an equal amount of songs from both. On the one hand is that wonderful early 70s sound on DQ but also there's great lyrics & songs to be had on Dream Street Rose. (I love "The Auctioneer" and "Make Way For The Lady" by the way;) )

I'm going with the "Don Quixote" LP,mainly for the songs,"Beautiful" & "Looking At The Rain".

Surprise, surprise--DQ. Although DSR is fine, too, DQ showed GL at the height of his songwriting and voice as well, and the other players never sounded better.

Have to go with DQ for sentimental reasons. It was my first Lightfoot album and was given to me as a Christmas present by the family friend who introduced a 13 year old (me) to Lightfoot's songs by singing them at the supper club where he played.

As an ironic side note, my favorite Lightfoot song at that time was Go My Way - and I never even heard Lightfoot's recording of it until several years later when I bought SSOL. Rusty said he actually wanted to get SSOL, but the record store he was at didn't have it in stock. So even though DQ wasn't Lightfoot's most recent release at the time (1975), Rusty went with it because he knew my other favrite song was Looking At the Rain.

I do love strolling down memory lane.
