Of all the Gord songs that fade away at the end, which one do you think sounds the best?

Actually, I am a fan of the fade-out, but it seemed to die out as a practice as AM radio died out. Correct me if I am wrong but I think one of the reasons for fades was for radio stations as a gradual break between airplays of different songs.

I think the one from "The Circle is Small" is one of the best because like the end of a marriage, it slowly dies out.

"Christian Island" is another one that just relaxes a listener more as it fades.

I noticed the phenomenon on the more recent Gord albums. There are several songs that could have been faded: "No Mistake About It", "No Hotel", "Boathouse", "Uncle Toad Said", and of course "Fading Away" could have used a fade effectively.

Now... I fade away....

"Brave Mountianeers" has a great whistling fade.
"Cotton Jenny" has a great humming fade.

I like the fade out for "Sundown","The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald","Cotton Jenny".

Most definetly though it's,"You'll Still Be Needing Me".
Love that,"La,la,la,la-la." etc. Of course I've liked that song since play #1. :)

I'd have to say Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald or Brave Mountaineers.

Melissa did the bells for us (Derek Kidd, Ed Mullen, Matt Carl and myself) at a Lightfoot tribute in Saratoga Springs, NY a few years ago.

I passed on the opportunity that night in Saratoga Springs...my proficiency is limited to air guitar...Bells aren't in my repertoire..

We'll get you up on stage next time to do a little lead on your air guitar.
