Well, this weekend at Massey Hall was a thrill for me. Because of connections I made at Hamilton, I was allowed to come backstage after Saturday's concert. I came away with a photo which I will frame and treasure. It was great to meet Gord and other band members. I have been a fan since grade 5. But what has kept me smiling all week is this photograph of Gord holding my 1 month old daughter. What a thrill! It's a keeper. The quality is very good although the posted version is of poorer quality. Anyway, I just had to share this photo. It's the reason I have been smiling all week. Enjoy. http://classes.hdch.org/tspayne/aboutpayniac_files/image015.jpg
Wow, what a blessing and a great picture! I guess Gordon likes children?

that's so sweet, I remember that picture being taken, I think Gord was happy to hold a little one again

Oh my, that is precious! I'm sure you'll treasure the pic! :)
I'm new to the board, but a very long time fan of Gordon's (35+ years). I live in Ohio and I'm trying to decide which city he will be appearing in is closest to me.

M.M.:
Gord was a bit "fumbly" at first but instinct kicked in and he was pretty good with her.
Digital cameras are great because we can immediately see if the pic is a keeper or not. A quick re-take of a not so good one can save the day.
Did the other pic I snapped turn out okay? I don't think he was holding her in that one. What a proud dad you were.
It's good to know that you are passing on the love of Lightfoot to your children like so many of us have. And the children you teach are lucky to have you incorporate Lightfoot into their lessons as well.
It was great meeting you and your family and I'm glad you got hold of your contact to come backstage. It was crazy back there and I never did speak with him!

Thanks everyone for sharing your comments and for sharing in my excitement. That is one nice thing about this board. People seem to operate as a true community where we share each other's joys and woes. I'll see if I can post a couple of other pictures in the near future (for those of you who can't get enough of Gord).
