View Full Version : Combining songs
Are there any songs that you think could be combined like 'I'm Not Sayin/Ribbon Of Darkness'?
The only 2 that I can think of for right now would be 'The Last Time I Saw Her/Softly'. These 2 don't go together when it comes to lyrics, but the tunes match each other.

Yes DMD3 the Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Band http://mageenet.org/lightfoottributeband/
in their first March 22nd 2002 concert at The Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY included what was to me a stunning pairing
of Farewell to Annabelle/Race Among The Ruins
John Fowles
P.S. DMD3 I am getting very tired of typing your moniker as initials. Do you actually have a name??!!Then all we will need is a picture so that we can all put a face to your name as it were!!!

Summer Side Of Life into Seven Island Suite.

My vote is against combining any two songs into one. I don't care for it, not even when Gord has legitimately done it the couple of times. It is the one thing he has recorded that I don't care for! I say: Let all songs stand on their own merits and by themselves!

Thematically, Go-Go Round and Rainbow Trout would go well together, in that order, but they have different time signatures, which might be a problem; and I'm not sure if they're in the same key. It's an interesting idea, especially when you consider some of the more unlikely combos, like For Lovin' Me turning into Fitz, turning into Cherokee Bend. What would that sound like?
Don Quixote/Ordinary Man?

Actually, I think that would sound good, but only if it started out with Canadian Railroad Trilogy.

Iron: Double dog? You been watching The Christmas Story already this year? Happy T-giving to all who celebrate today. For the rest of you...Gord included...just have a helluva great day!
Now And Then & Summer Side Of Life would make a sad but good combo.
