I noted that geoman had claimed to have been "mapman" here in 2001, yet according to a search on in "directory" "mapman" was registered only last month;
Figuring that any previous registration geoman had made here might have got lost in the wash
I went looking for any postings by "mapman" in an archived copy of corfid from 2001 using the wayback machine's archive,
No luck although I did refind the old favo(u)rite song topic that I have now resurrected by replying to it.
Reluctant to abandon my quest I Googled for "corfid mapman"
anfd found not only the "Fitz" beer topic that mapman so famously started in January which led to Mary someday drinking it in her limo.
I spotted another initially*** surprising google result though
"Gordon Lightfoot: Today's Active Topics" at:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_daily
which is a useful summary of today's new postings plus others going back to February 21st so not precisely "today's" at all!!
I was hitherto unaware that this facilty existed
and I have now bookmarked it for future consultation

*** After I drafted the above and went to the main forum listing page I then spotted the link to
"today's active topics" at the top of the forum listing table duh! No need to bookmark it therefore
