I have been doing some Christmas cleaning today (yeah, I know, I'm cutting it close) while listening to the Harmony CD. No Mistake About It has never really grabbed me, though I've thought it's ok. Well today I caught myself humming along to it, and I was running through the song list in my head trying to figure out where I've ranked it. To my surprise I realized I haven't given this tune near enough the credit it deserves.

Now I have!

So the Harmony CD now has me at 10/11 songs that are either fabulous or very good. Anyone want to laud the merits of Couchiching? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

OK, I'll do it. He performed Couchiching at Hamilton and you could tell he really dug it. (Old school "dug"=enjoyed). It's a fun and funny song and provides a nice interlude between the serious ones and the "love" songs that we all love, LOL. He wrote it, he recorded it, he played it at his "comeback", so he must like it. And I suspect a lot of us fans like it too. But that's why he mixes 'em up I think, so his appeal stays far & wide. (but then again I like his jokes too)

Excellent argument and very well said.

I am from Orillia too, and the song is correct in both its description of the scenery and the mood and feel of the area. I understand it easily enough, because all of the things he sings of are very familiar to me. For some reason though, I just can't get into it.

I think this is the weakest song on the CD, Couchiching is second. Both are good songs and I like them but they aren't as strong as say "Harmony", "End Of All Time" and "Sometimes I Wish". I wonder what songs he could have picked for the CD instead of that one. Maybe there was another "Harmony" that didn't make the cut??

There are "no"..repeat,"no" weak songs on that CD! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif I put it right up there with Sundown and Shadows. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif
As I stated elsewhere,I think of that song as a nice sequel to,"Make Way For The Lady". http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
