According to this site, CRT has been recorded on the following albums:

Canadian Railroad Trilogy, The Way I Feel
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Fantastic Lightfoot Vol I.
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Gord's Gold
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Over 60 Minutes with ...
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Songbook
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Sunday Concert
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Sunday Concert Plus
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, The Best Of Gordon Lightfoot
Canadian Railroad Trilogy, The United Artists Collection- CD II

I don't know how different each one is (except for the live version versus studio). Anybody??

I knew that it was in a bunch of CDs but I would think that some them are only remixed. As far as I know, there are 3, but that's a lot of albums, there. There's the orignial, another that sounds slightly different, and one version is faster and is played on a higher note..

OK, guys, I'm not one to hit you over the head with the link to my web site, but I answer that question - for EVERY song on the "official" albums - on my web site on the "Songs" page. The link to that page is on the main page, along the left of the photo.

There are three recordings: the original (on The Way I Feel, 1967), the live version on Sunday Concert (1969), and the rerecording on Gord's Gold (1975), the last done in his 70s style arrangement and most similar to the way he performs it today.

The other albums all use one of these recordings, although they don't always say which one. The GG version is on that one album only. The Songbook boxed set used the original recording (and says so). All of the incarnations of "Sunday Concert" use that recording, of course. The mix and mastering varies; most of us think the Bear Family version sounds the best. It's a great song and if you don't have all three recordings you should do something about that. They are all worth having, and each has its own special appeal.
