what does "big rain coming" mean to you?

The song on COLD ON THE SHOULDER, "The Soul is the Rock" has the line "big rain coming, big rain coming this way". I like it but I'm not SURE what it means. A soul cleansing?

Something like that. I think you have to look at it in Biblical terms of the Great Flood (cleansing of humanity's sins), and Dylan's "It's a Hard Rain Gonna Fall".

It just means a big change is on it's way. "Rain on the rock" is a metaphor for washing away the past or maybe even the now irrelevant.

Sort of like how Bob Dylan said,"It's A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall!" ;)
