They should auction those pants on e-bay, it would raise a lot of money for some charity. I would start the bidding-I wonder how high the bid would go. Great Story!

Betty, that is a great idea. Then you'd have
the pants to go along with all those
'backside' stories you tell so well http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif LOL

The columnist is just the messenger. Gord is a topical entity here in Toronto and he thought it would be of interest to folks who like Gord and golf I guess. And he expressed his opinion on the pretentiousness of the golf "wardrobe".

Gee, ya know, if he was wearing that pair of pants that he has on in one of the Sunday Concert pictures (you'll recognize them right away - real 60's ugly. The kind of stuff we thought looked really cool at the time... Anyway, any pants that ugly would fit right in on a golf course!

I wish someone like 'happy gilmore ' really did exsist, then maybe golfers wouldn't be so strict about their dress. I think jeans are much more comfy than polyester!!!lol

Kudos to Gord for showing up for the game in the attire that suits him best! I mean, can anyone really imagine him in golf clothes? I just can't picture it.

of paper and tin? (and mp3's http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif) lol
sorry, Dunford (i'll bet he's relieved by my error, lol) , it was Gary Lautens...and since this thread is dead nanyhow i'll go off topic further and tip my cap to him with a text paste:
"Throughout his 40 years in journalism, Gary believed that humour should be used primarily for kindly purposes to point out life's ironies and contradictions. He never used his humour cruelly, and was more likely to hold up his own foibles and embarrassments as a lesson for his readers. His column was used to express joy and gratitude for what mattered the most to him in life - family, friends and country" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Now if it ain't gonna show up as a complete and correctly clickable hyperlink here as in the example you have just provided it would be better still oh Whitby Wizard to do the job properly yourself using the same technique you learnt and mastered for making
"notlong" addresses for pix on the MSN group site (or have you completely lost your mind and memory??
It's as easy as ABCDE!!!
A.First copy the complete URL
B.then go to http://www.notlong./com
http://www.notlong1.notlong.com
C.Then paste the complete URL into the upper box, replace the random name in the box front of the "dotnotlongdotcom " with your
choice of a short succinct snazzy word/expression
http://www.notlong4.notlong.com
D.Then press "Save as" and after it has been saved you will get a screen showing a link to the notlong url you decreed [plus a password-in case you one
day wish to amend the link later)
http://www.notlong3.notlong.com
E.If you were then to click that link you should then be forwarded to the URL you wanted and thereby prove that it works (if not have a strong cup of
coffee while you ponder where you went wrong!!!
So just what is all the fuss about??
I will admit that there is one small complication.
when you nave uploaded your picture to the MSN group you need to establish its address by right clicking on the full sized
pic (not the thumbnail) and select "properties"
you will see a box like this:-
http://www.properties2.notlong.com
and you must then highlight and copy the address (url)which in total will be something like the long sequence shown below
http://www.fullurl.notlong.com
Note that in the case of pix on the MSN group there will be some extraneous characters after the vital "jpg" so only copy as far as "jpg" and paste just that "minimal" URL into the notlong box as shown in C above.
After you press "save as" you will get a clickable link to the final notlong URL which should then prove to you that all is
in order!! If not try something stronger than coffee and take deep breaths!
Whatever you should eventually produce a nice useable link that will display your chosen page or picture viz:-
http://www.lautens2.notlong.com
I tried "rlautens.notlong.com but that was already taken so perhaps after all Char you did try to create a useable link???
