If You Could Read My Mind vs. Don Quixote
Sorry about that previous topic, folks. No, I did not mean for that to be a trick question. I don't know what came over me. I meant to type Don Quixote, but I wasn't paying attention. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OLD TO MAKE THOSE KINDS OF SILLY MISTAKES, AGE IS NOTHING BUT A NUMBER, AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.  :D

Hey Fade! ;) Now,this is more of a challenge. :)
For some others but not me,hands down it's,"If You Could Read My Mind".
While DQ has a number of good songs (most notably title track,Beautiful,Looking At The Rain etc.;I "really" love all but 1 song on IYCRMM.
That's,"Poor Little Allison",it just doesn't do "as much" as the other songs, for me. I kinda like it a little but that's about it.
I also prefer the original title of the album too.
sigh...rough, very rough...
Good songs on both...however, maybe the bit of poetry on the back of DQ tips the scales for me...
when the old knight rode
his spirit faltered not
were i to shoulder such a task
i fear twould be forgot...

Very tough choice ... but I'll go with Don Quixote, only by virtue of the outstanding title track.

Although most of you know my "open secret" about not liking DQ I would have to choose that one because nearly every song is on a favorite list. On IYCRMM, I have some favorites too but few.
It was rough and tough just because of the DQ secret.

Whoa,
This is tough. IYCRMM was the first Gord I heard, DQ was the first LP I bought. (I snitched IYCRMM and Summer Side of Life from my younger sister when she moved on to James Taylor.)
IYCRMM songs fit right in where I wanted to go with my guitar playing. I can't agree with Border, on Poor Little Allison, I kinda like that one, though Cobwebs and Dust gets skipped now and then.
DQ came along after I was hooked, so while I really like DQ, this time I'll go for IYCRMM.

DQ, an easy choice for me as it's my favorite Lightfoot album. Are they still called albums?

I still call them albums - after all, an album is a collection of like items - as in photo album (collection of pictures), autograph album (collection of signatures), record album (collection of songs).
