I really don't know what kind of a person Mr.Lightfoot is in person, or how he feels about mail, but do you think he would ever consider doing anything his fans suggested? For instance, if someone wrote a letter very kindly and politely suggesting that he put the acoustic version of East Of Midnight on his next album, do you think he would give it some thought? I use this as an example because I like the song and I'd like to hear an acoustic recording of it. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

He might. If it was more asked and not suggested. He loves his fans and likes to give them what they like...getting a letter to him would be the difficult part I think.

Yes, getting the letter to him would be difficult, especially for me. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif

I kind of doubt he would put it on an album of new studio material. But he might if he comes thru with that collection of rareities he's mentioned releasing. I think there's a nice version of "Knotty Pine" somewhere where he uses a 12-string acoustic instead of the electric guitar heard on the album.

Last October,I sent out a birthday card to Gordon (as most of you may recall). When I sent it,I realistically expected no reply. Mainly because he had much more important things to concentrate on like getting well. I signed as many names as possible by the way.

"D",having met GL for a brief few minutes in '02,I can honestly say he's quite like the average man. An average man with a little extra than the rest of us,but still,he's down to earth and quite friendly.
He didn't leave the concert hall in a limo or a rolls royce but just a simple tan car.

As for taking our suggestions or questions and turning them to action...I'm sure if he thoughtit was a good enough idea or request, there's about 1/2 a chance he might.
Give it try,ya never know! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

DMD3, if you'll e-mail me at
matthewbullis@runbox.com
I can send you an acoustic live version of East Of Midnight which I have in mp3. It will be a couple of megs though, so if you're on AOL it shouldn't be a problem, or any other provider which can accept larger attachments.

That accoustic version of EOM is great. I love that song on EOM but love the accoustic version even more. I think I'll have break that out today. It's raining here so perhaps a good day to dig out some Lightfoot rarities.

Where is the acoustic version of EOM available? or is it? I keep hearing about it, but I've only heard him do it in concert, never seen a recording of it.

There is no official recording of it.

Watchman: SIGH. I envy you your acoustic recording of EOM and your rain.
I miss the rain....bring on Autumn!

StationMaster: I don't think I've ever seen Rick move that fast...

I don't have my own computer yet or my own Email address. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif I'm only 17, but do you think you will still have it in about 2 or 3 years from now? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Maybe then I'll have my own address so I can email you. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
