i was reading the post about "Bitter Green" & how it might be about a dog, & it reminded me of a thought i had about the song "Without You". i really believe this is GL's swan song to alcohol or "Farewell to Muscatel" if you will. no-where in the track is there any mention of "you" being a woman. & remember it was released in "83, the yr. he quit drinking.

Hmmm, very interesting concept. It's not a song I'm overly familiar with, but after reading the lyrics (too lazy to dig out the record and don't have the CD yet)it could even be a workable concept.
