What was the first song that Mr.Lightfoot EVER wrote? (Not just written and discarded, but written and sang, on stage or on album?) :)

I think so in the Songbook booklet, he said that REMEMBER ME, I'M THE ONE was the 3rd one. Seems like he said he was about age 12 or 13 when he wrote it, but I could be very wrong about that.

in Songbook he says:
"I think the first song I wrote was done at the age of about 17 - a topical song about the hula hoop craze that was sweeping the nation."
He also says Remember Me was about the 3rd song he wrote.

How about the first song or poem any of "us" ever wrote or tried too? :D

My first (song, lyrics only) was called,"I've Got A Rock In My Sock".

A friend of mine & I in San Diego (1978) were walking to somewhere (forget why) and we started making stuff up to pass the time.

He did a strange number called "Wearing Blue Jeans": "Wearing blue jeans is my game, they're all blue & all the same!"... etc. :)

Mine went:"I've got a rock...in my sock!"
"It hurt so much...I called Starsky & Hutch"! ...& so forth. LOL in the library! :D

About what you'd expect from a 10 year old. Long gone now though.

Later I went home & wrote 'em down.
