Good job of starting the new thread, Jessi-Joe! Hopefully if it was a corrupted file as was suggested, this will fix it.
But did you delete the other thread? Too bad if you did as there were some fun conversations going on in that one. It would have been cool just to close it so no one could post to it, but it would still be there for reading - plus we'd also have a reminder of the puzzles already done by you and Borderstone.
I think this is great fun and you do a wonderful job of choosing the songs and creating the puzzles, so why don't you go ahead and continue with the next one?
Personally, I find it less confusing if one person creates/posts the puzzles, because then there aren't several going on at once. If anyone has one they'd like to suggest, they can do so to you in PM and you can post it crediting them. That's just a suggestion on how to make it easier for the rest of us to follow - it's certainly not etched in stone or required :)
So anyway, bring on the next one, Jessi-Joe! I've got my thinking cap on

I must have missed this - was there a corrupted file.?? I had huge virus problems starting early Tues.morning and had my computer cleaned for 18 hours because my ISP refused me use of their service.
I don't know where the virus my computer had came from. Can anyone offer some info?
thanks,
Char

There is no prof that there was a corrupted file. The previous unscramble the song title thread kept having problems with the puzzles missing letters or letters changing.
In addition to it just being innocent oversite by the puzzle posters, one of our more technical visitors suggested that the thread may have been corrupt causing the web host to not be able to translate correctly. He gave a wonderful explanation that I'm butchering to smitherines, but sufice it to say, he suggested that the original thread be closed and a new one started, just in case that was the problem. I don't think there was any issue of a virus or any sort of corruption that was transferable to anyone's hard drive.
I have no clue where you might have picked up your virus, Char, but I don't envy you - I hate dealing with crap like that - what a pain in the backside!

One man's opinion...
I wouldn't know a corrupted file if I saw one. But it was an interesting "suggestion". I would rather believe that it was, instead of just carelessness on the part of the posters.
I vote for Janice's idea that Jessi-Joe maintain control of the thread. It is indeed enjoyable.

Jessi!! You are posting these waaaaaaaay to fast!
How do you expect people to take part if you don't give them proper time to respond?
Most of us don't have that much time on our hands and even if I had a home PC instead of the library's,I wouldn't want to sit there and try to decode all of these! Sheesh!
It's nothing personal at all t'words you man but understand...one at a bless-ed time. Allright? :)
I know how you enjoy posting here,I went through the same thing when I first got here but you have to ease up a bit.
You don't "have" to be on incessantly, there's greater things in life outside of a discussion board or a chat room to take part in or experience. :) Take some time for yourself dude, okay?
Thank you.

I can understand Borderstones comments, it can be somewhat daunting to have 7 puzzles in a row and it could end up being difficult to keep track of which ones have been solved if someone isn't able to do all of them at once like Brink did.
I can also understand how Jessi-Joe might find it difficult to keep up if we solve the puzzles so quickly :)
If I could offer a suggestion, Jessi-Joe, it would be to go ahead and create the scrambles in advance - have a list that you keep beside your computer - but only post them one at a time. That way, whenever someone answers the current scramble, you have another one ready to immediately post. Plus that might allow you to have the time to make sure all of the letters are represented - 'cause missing letters can be very confusing, as Char said, and in the long run can take the fun right out of the whole process.
As I said, this just a suggestion, ultimately it's your thread and you should do it the way you feel most comfortable doing it.
Jesse Joe
05-29-2006, 05:45 PM
Yes it is exactly what I did, except I posted all of them in one shot. Not interesting for me or you all. Another way to do this, would be to put one on, and the person who gets it, then he or she puts one on. That way everybody interested in playing would get a shot, at posting one. Just a suggestion myself. Dont know what you all think? :)

Actually, Jessi-Joe, that's not a bad idea at all. That way you would have the chance to unscramble some as well :) Plus it wouldn't be such a job for one person to keep having to come up with all the puzzles.

That's true, Jessi-Joe, Lightfoot did not write the song, but he recorded it and that makes it Lightfoot related and therefore still topic specific, right? Or did I unintentionally blunder?

You certainly Janice, you kept all the songs. Good work, I haven't had time yet to figure out Joveski's, {Mende} from Australia. Sooner or later someone will get it. Theres also Quiz to solve, put out by, Fading Away. I think we should play that one the same way, when one gets the answer, he then post one of his own. If you all want to of course. I only have the song on vinyl and right now my older music is still in boxes, so I can't check the album. However, I notice that it is spelled with a "y" in the songs section here at Corfid, as well as at Wayne's Lightfoot web site. No matter, really, if it should be an "i" I'm sorry for the confusion :)

Pretty good Janice, someone should write a song about that, maybe I will try? :D Someone already did - he called it "Mountains and Maryann" (or "Marian") :D

Hi Janice, it is a bit confusing. On my CD's some are with {i} others are {y}.
On my vinyl LP it is written: Maryann like Wayne. So lets just say that everybody's got it correct.lol :)
No Janice I meant someone should write a song about, being a nanny and being damn nuts.
But Im sure you knew what I meant...JJ.

But Im sure you knew what I meant...JJ. Of course I did, Jessi-Joe, but I couldn't help but tease you since 'I am a nanny or damn nuts' was an anagram for 'Mountains and Maryann'.....it was meant to be a Ha-Ha :D
