View Full Version : "Affair" on Gords Gold
What does the recording of "Affair On 8th Avenue" on Gords Gold sound like? Is it any different from the original?(I know "Softly" is no different from the live version on Songbook except for the audience clapping)

Every new version he did of one of his songs is different than the original in some way.
Some of his 1960's songs were updated to sound more "Seventies" like and some of his '70s songs were updated to sound more "Eighties". http://www.corfid.com/ubb/tongue.gif (Should have left 'em alone, with 1 or 2 exceptions.)
The '70s version of "Affair On 8th Avenue" is different but in a stranger way than the others. Just listen to the two back to back and you'll see what I mean. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

I know, that's one of the things I was implying. It's an interesting version but, you're right, the original is still the best.

I don't have the re-recording. Do you know if it's still possible to get it? Can it be downloaded or something?

FYI - Don't bother looking for the CD. "Affair" is not on it.

It says in the notes that it wouldn't fit.

I already have Gords Gold. But can the song be downloaded, or is there a double-disk set? I thought I saw at the bottom of the album there was.

I have been googlesearching a place to buy the cassette/download the song, or at least hear so much as a sample of it, but so far I am having no such luck. :( If anyone knows where I can get the cassette of Gords Gold, please let me know? :)
