View Full Version : Is there a Gord "type"?

This is an important experiment so I hope many will participate. I have long been very interested in personality type and how it relates to interest and behavior. I am wondering if people who have an affinity for Lightfoot are of similar personality types. I have posted a link below where you can make a fairly quick assessment to see what your personality type is. If you have never done it, it can be very eye-opening.
If you would, post your personality type as a response, then we will see if there are any patterns amongst Lightfoot fans. I am guessing we will have a lot of people with the introvert and intuitive preference (such as INFP, INTP, INFJ, etc). This should be fun. Thanks.

I've been to a site similiar to this before. And believe it or not, it seemed to describe me pretty accurately. It's bin awhile though. I'll post my type later.

I'm an ISTJ (introvert / sensor/ thinker / judger). I've taken this one before and usually come out the same.

I am, according to this test, an INTJ. I must be ADD, too, because I can't remember what the "N" stands for even tho' I just took the test a second ago! I-introvert, N-?, T-thinker, J-judger

Oma,
The "n" is iNtuition.
This is the Myers Briggs personality type indicator, been in use for decades.

I'm just like Oma - INTJ. Most of the descriptions seem to fit, with the exception of the career suggestions.

I'm an ENFP, took the test long ago. You might find this interesting also: my girlfriend and I are both really into Gord and we have this really strong personality connection. It's hard to describe, but we often know what the other is thinking and just now, I emailed her telling her that 'All the Lovely Ladies' is my new favorite and she responded by saying that she was listening to that song when she opened the email! It's a little more than just connecting with someone, and we've both acknowledged that. But perhaps that is what connecting with someone is all about. Whatever it is, I love her and I'm grateful to have found her. She is truly a gift from above. Anyway, I've found out mutual interest in Gord to be interesting, esp. since every other girl I've dated can't stand him!

Okay,I took this little test and I find some of the choices a bit limiting. There were a few where both words described me and I could only choose one. Not all people are one or the other, some are both and a few pairs of those were definetly me. I took a bit of exceotion to choosing between,"Marshmallow" and "Rock"! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif Do they think anyone in their right mind is going to admit to being a marshmallow?? That's rather insulting. There wasn't a better "flexible" object they could have chosen? Sheesh! Some people are capable of being both soft-hearted at times and then also being strong when need be as well. I think the test is a little narrow-minded. Been me,later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

I'd like to take this test now but the internet is all tied up and right now I can't take it because we live in the country http://www.corfid.com/ubb/mad.gif. I'll half to see if I can get on it at school.
But speaking of this test, does anyone have a clue as to what Gord might be?

I got INTP. The introversion line was the longest on the bar graph. And it should be, too.

I'm an ISFP. It's not really surprising how many of us are introverted-- after all, I'm sitting in my own house typing on my computer to people who can't see me, have time to formulate what I'm going to say, and I get to proofread it before it goes out-- an introverts dream if I ever did see one!

Took the hediously long version of this once during a "retreat" with a group of highly opinionized feminists. That was ugly.

ESTJ which matches another system just like this one that I had to take for a workshop a few weeks back. (I never saw a camera I didn't like,LOL)
There are a lot of "I"s here but we "E"s help keep things balanced.

INTJ: Strong on introversion, thinking, and judgment; weak on intuition. (Many of the choices "depend on the situation," but I suppose the result is accurate enough.)

Another interseting way to look at this...
If you understand much about Myers-Briggs, what would your guess be about the man behind the music? Many artistic, creative types have the INFP temperament in common, and my guess is Gord is no exception.
Here is one excerpt from the link below (on INFPs)...
"INFPs areusually talented writers. They may be awkard and uncomfortable with expressing themselves verbally, but have a wonderful ability to define and express what they're feeling on paper."

ENTP, and what's interesting is that I took this test long long ago and was an ENTP back then, too. I've often wondered if I changed at all through the years but this confirms that I really haven't changed quite as much as I thought. lol

This is actually pretty interesting. The vast majority has claimed either an I or an N, meaning most are Introverted and/or iNtuitive. This is really significant when you realize these type characteristics are far outweighed by their opposites (Extroverts and Sensors).
U.S. Population Breakdown
(Canada is likely similar)
ESTP 13% ISTP 6%
ESFP 13 ISFP 6
ESTJ 13 ISTJ 6
ESFJ 13 ISFJ 6
ENTP 5 INTP 1
ENTJ 5 INTJ 1
ENFP 5 INFP 1
ENFJ 5 INFJ 1
If there are "Gord Types" most are in the minoritiy. Is it any wonder Gord's music is underappreciated in this world? The deep reflective types are outnumbered. It's good to realize we're not weird, just abnormal.
