The tally so far:

Old Dan's Records 15 Uncle Toad Said 2
IYCRMM 13 Harmony 1

OK, I guess the first two were no surprise. Those classic Gord songs are near and dear to our hearts. This one may require more thought. Here are two songs that are openers for two of Gord's more recent (term is used loosely!) albums. They seem to create a similar mood and the melodies are light and playful. Let's see which one you love the most.

Drifters, but I always liked the live version better than the cut that made it to the album. It always seemed to flow more easily and I think it is a perfect touring song!

I like them both, for listening I like Drifters, but for the words I go with Stay Loose. Words are most important...

Tough choice. I'll go with "Stay Loose." A different type of song for Gord. Who says his songs all sound alike?

Also, I love Gord with backup female vocals, like he used to have on High and Dry.

Drifters is a good song, but a bit formulaic. Not much of a stretch for Gord, but a typical good, strong song. Can't go wrong with either song.
