As of yet I haven't heard one I didn't like!!!! I really like the one: Song For a Winter's Night.
Does anyone know if, when, or where the concert series is going to be broadcast on T.V.? I remember hearing something about it this spring...but chores and the hectic pace of summer I got sidetracked. Would really like to see it. I missed him here on the east coast.

The Reno concert, taped in April, is currently planned for the PBS pledge drives in December (here in the US). Nothing is announced yet, and I've been told that it won't be before late Sept/Early Oct. In Canada, CBC has announced it, but not yet given a date (at least I haven't seen a date). It might be a month earlier there. I will post any new information on the special at my web site at http://gordonlightfoot.com .
And, if you check the tour schedule there, you will see that Gord will be back on the east coast in the first half of next year. So you just might be able to see him in concert then. I know I will be going yet again ...

My favorite for the week is Shadows. I probably have listened to it 25 times in the last few days. This song must have been written write from the heart because of a relationship that he experienced.

No way I can name just one GL song as my favorite, so I'll do like Sundownbuff did and name my favorite(s) of the week. For the last several days I've been playing "14 Karat Gold" over and over. A great tune I've just discovered since I got the box set.
At this moment I am into his later stuff. I've been playing Disc 4 on the box set more than the others. Guess right now - this week - I'm in the mood for the maturity and reflection of the songs written by the "older" Gord, though I love his early stuff too and everything in between. I've been listening to "Why should I feel blue" "Waiting for you" "A passing ship" and "Painter passing through" a lot. Might have something to do with the fact that I'm turning 37 soon and am undeniably "middle-aged." And might be because I met the "older" Gord just recently!

Hey Sundown,
We must be cosmically linked: I've been listening to Shadows all week, too... One of those newly discovered favorites.

Mary Ann,
Do you think he will do Spanish Moss at that Savanah Concert?
Hey Sundownbuff,
I know you are in San Diego you lucky lady. Hope you are having a good time and know that I am with you in spirit as your Majestic Concert buddy! Concerning Shadows for some reason I always thought that song had something to do with Gord's relationship with Cathy Smith. I am not sure the time-frame fits. That song is one of my all time favorites which when it comes to Gord's music isn't narrowing anything down too much!
Dan
Dan,
I should hope so. I'd hate to think of my fellow Georgians stringing him up like Spanish Moss if he chose not to (LOL). Hmmmm? I wonder if he sings 10 Degrees and Colder when in Colorado?

Yes Dan I am here and enjoying myself. I am going to e-mail you a funny story about being here. I also brought my Gordon photos and my daughter will scan them for me today.
I had several of the photos blown up and hope for an autograph tonight. I was thinking of you and your family when I woke up this morning. I will be sure to let you know details. Until later. thanks for thinking of me.

Char...I love Spanish Moss too!! I was very surprised to see it come up a few times in the "dislikes" topic by young stranger. The melody is beaautiful and his voice...what can I say, and it's romantic (like me!!)

A few years ago I was at a Convention in Atlanta. Our company was holding a Fun Run in a local park and a whold bunch of the trees had spanish moss hanging from them. All the time I was in that park I kept humming and singing Spanish Moss under my breath. Everyone I was with thought there was something wrong with me. Not one of them a Gord fan so they couldn't relate at ALL!
Kisses mixed with moonshine would have been a whole lot fun in that park, but alas my wife wasn't with me.
Dan
P.S. I did see a whole bunch of red clay too. Wasn't there a dog named BOO connected to that red clay TOO.
Sundownbuff,
I'll look forward to that funny story.
I would imagine you are enjoying the concert as I am typing this. It must be 8:15 in San Diego.
Talk to you when you get back.
Dan
Dan,
Are you sure that wasn't KUDZU that was hanging from the trees in the park? (LOL) We are covered in the stuff! I'm assuming the park was Piedmont. That's
generally where those type runs are held. One year BRAG (Bike Ride Across GA) started their race there and it finished in Savannah. I entered the race that year, but rode at a leasurily pace- no way could I have kept up with some of those bikers!!! Bicycles, not Harley's et al. So, you like our dirt? Not if you had to clean it out of your clothes, that's for sure! Don't know about the Dog named Boo . . . go ask Lobo.

Mary Anne,
It wouldn't matter if it was KUDZU or Spanish Moss. To me it was Spanish Moss!!! You know sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Dan
Gord did a beautiful job in San Diego with Spanish Moss. I wish I would of kept track of the songs but I can't scream, clap, and stand up and yell along with writing.

We attended his concert in Anaheim, California on Friday. Both my wife and I loved it !!!! He opened with 14Karat Gold, and I swear I have never heard him do The Minstrel of the Dawn better. He seemed really relaxed and seemed to enjoy himself, and the crowd enjoyed he and his band. Of course he sang all of the usual songs, but he also sang Heaven don't Deserve ME , and Forgive me Lord which were FANTASTIC. GORD also sang RESTLESS which was supreb!!! FYI
CRT was done to purfection as was FITZ., Cold on the Shoulder' Sundown, and IF You Could Read MY MIND. HE sang for over two hours and the only thing I can say is that it just was not long enough!!!SAY, Does anyone have the song list from the lat time he sang at the GREEK two years ago?
My batteries are at full charge again, Thanks to G.L. J.W.
