Paddle,
He looks great, the new album is fantastic and there are two concerts scheduled for November 2004. He's been on TV, out in public, sang somewhere on stage(?) at a Tribute concert and he's geeting back in the groove. There looks like a spring 2005 tour is going to happen. That's my humble short version.

Why Norman you are too modest having completed your epic Paddle to the Sea to the mouth of the river at Astoria, OR on
September 27th see:- http://www.lewisandclark-2004.com/updates.shtml
presumably you passed between the two keen Lightheads who happen to reside in opposing cities on the Columbia River right Rik
(Newsgrouper who founded the chat room) and Laurel (LSH here)??
I have resurrected your original posting and have looked at your web site to find this lonely looking picture
http://www.lewisandclark-2004.com/images/paddling/paddle1.jpg
Bill the Wallace has given you a very brief but cogent summary beyond that I can suggest that you go take a look at some of
my weekly highlight postings I have listed a few interesting corfid topics at the Newsgroup at this lengthy thread which I
began back in July:- http://groups.google.com/groups?q=g:thl3330611161d&dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&selm=ONadnTbUtqn8oGXdRVn-sA%40garden.net
The very first posting I did was soon after Gord had made an unexpeceted and delightfuilly surprising appearance on stage at
the Mariposa Ferstival in the "town they call Orillia" (part of the lyrics from one of the "novelty" tracks on the new CD
"Harmony" which I trust you will not waste any time acquiring!!!)
and here on corfid a similar round up of Newsgroup highlights in topic:- http://www.corfid.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002411.html
Come and chat on Friday and tell us all about it please

I agree a sailboat is the best choice but here on the East Coast you need a powerboat to get out to where the big fish swim, LOL. Oh you could sail out and back but it wouldn't be a 'day trip'.

for sure, even need a little inboard just to get in and out of slip safely...then we'd head out into St. Lawrence where this big fish would swim, swim ,swim http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

when much younger used to love powerboating in an well kept 50's wooden boat pretty near Christian Island (helping to destroy any peace http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif ) ...i sure love that photo, guys!

Hey all. Just listenin to some Gordon Lightfoot on vinyl and thought I'd check the web for other fans. Wow! Cool website.

Here's my long-story short:

I knew the song E.Fitzgerald from back in the late 70's (when I was still 4 ft. tall). I grew up on the St. Lawrence in Ogdensburg, NY. Capt. McSorley of the Fitzgerald allegedly lived in my neighborhood (in a house I used to deliver newspapers to) and E.Fitz definitely docked in my hometown cuz I got pics.

Anyway, w/o a doubt that song is most powerful to me and I'm only recently recognizing G's other awesome stuff. I've got two other albums on vinyl that are timeless - so cool man.

Thanks Gordon Lightfoot. You're music has enhanced my life - and that's what it's all about really, making life better for the next guy. Thank you.

Norm, you've absolutely got to get Harmony and give River Of Light a good listen.
It's my favorite and of course, I can see you easily identifying with this song.
