...and the snow lets up."

What a gift it is to learn that Gord is home and doing well. I got that gift too this year and was just telling friends today that I can't believe that Christmas is here due to the time lost. It seems surreal and although going through the motions, I just feel the year has passed me by and I'm months behind everyone else. Today while Christmas shopping, I stood there watching the scene, feeling out of step with everyone when it hit me:

"Sights and sounds of the people goin' 'round
Everybody's in step with the season."

I'm not in step and I'll bet Gord will experience the same; happy, thrilled to be here, just not quite in step.

Last week while walking down the street on a cold & windy morning, I looked up to see a woman walking towards me, her head turned away from the wind. I realized I too was scrunched up, collar to the wind when it hit me:

"The winter wind has turned my head but I always came up warm somehow."

It's amazing how these simple songlines pop up in everyday life; then you can't stop singing the song for days(lol).

"There have been times, I have seen the reaper
In the bad times, and in the good
I have bent down, I have touched the ground
Saying prayers and touching wood."

Hope everyone is in step with the season. Celebrate the gift of life and a simple songwriter who captures it for everyone.
