actually when the archives existance was first discovered:-
see:

scroll down to Gaby's (remember her anyone?)

here she referred to a Newsgroup posting:-
"[There is a program called " WM Recorder" that will record video to the hard drive on
your computer.
The website is: http://www.wmrecorder.com/index.php
The software is a free download for a "trial" period. It will only record 2
minutes of video for each clip unless you purchase the product. The full
price to record the complete videos is USD $29."
At the time I was able to acquire all the then available videos (stored on the CBC site as *.wmv files)
and later converted them all to the mpeg-1 format from which I successfully created VCD's (Video CDs) that play on our standalone DFD Player through our NTSC
television set full screen magic!!

Sir John - can you, if you have them still, send me the mpeg's.????
darryl re-formatted my computer and lost all videos, mp3's and allkinds of other stuff....
i've tried retrieving stuff but much is still missing...and the CBC site doesn't have them all any longer...I had planned on burning them like you did but they disappeared before I could do it.
