I have been sent this candid camera shot of our dear friend Walter which he wants me to display here.
I mentioned this to Cathy Cowette and she brilliantly suggested that I add a section of fan's pictures on my web site
I very much like this idea. I already have many suitable pics so I will contact the people concerned to ask their permision to include a particular pic in this potential rogue's gallery.
But I would be delighted to receive from anybody a suitable (preferably recent) digital picture to include on the site.
Please e-mail me with an attached jpeg to my ISP e-mail address (my usual hotmail account is limited by the owners
(a software outfit in Redmond WA) to a most stingy 2MB:
so please use:-
fowles@tellurian.com
to avoid your e-mail being refused.
Alternatively if like Mende Joveski and Cathy you already have a suitable pic on a web page just send me the URL so I can link to it from my new page.I will of course post a link to the new page once it is up and running

Walter is your right hand reaching for the chain I wonder?!

Yup. Borderstone looks like a bona fide Lighthead to me.
I pictured him to be chubbier and slightly bald, though.
John, my URL is below my name.

Yep!!!! That's me! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif ..and despite the "bathroom" humor http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif that is me in my kitchen leaning up against the cupboard (or is it cabinet?). http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif
I'd like to thank my friends Lisa & Jacob for the use of their PC for this endeavor and also to Brink for sending the pic to John Fowles and to he himself for getting it up here on the site. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
I decided to do this in marking my 1st year here and I thought it would be a cool thing to do,since I've never really done much with PC technology before.
Anyhow......ain't I drop to the knees handsome??? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif I look soooooooo good! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Seriously though,I have been told by the opposite sex that I'm very cute or kind of handsome in an old-fashioned way. (Not to sure about that 2nd one. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
Cathy! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif Chubbier??? Balding?? I'm Borderstone, not George Costanza of "Seinfeld"! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/tongue.gif To be fair though,I used to be 228 lbs. now I'm at about 203,thank goodness! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
Well, hope you liked the photo and now the rest of you have to do it too! Yes! YOU! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

It's weird, when I saw your picture, Borderstone, I thought that it was pretty much how I pictured you. You have pioneered a lot of thread-starting on this site, now it seems you have pioneered the start of us getting to know what each of us looks like!
Speaking of Pioneer,(this is a sad segue),
I have a Pioneer DVD player that plays both DVD-Audio and SACD discs. Hey, Gordon, when will you start releasing your albums in surround on either DVD-A or SACD! C'mon!

Some time back in a long discussion of dogs, of all things, on this board there was indeed a picture from a newspaper that featured The Watchman with one of his fine specimens. And there's been pictures of Cathy and Val available for some time. But I think the "B" has a great idea, thanks John for volunteering to organize it ? And Gord has pictures on his site and that shot of joveski was cool. And there was some pictures of a lot of current and former posters at the convention? So let's forge ahead.....

Just wondering.

I was just joking around http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif You asked why I simply put a smiley face in my reply. Sometimes when I can't think of anything at all to say but I want to say something of a favorable nature, I just answer with an emoticon.
So just for fun when you asked me why I put a smiley face I replied facetiously with a sad face LOL. But that was really for no purpose.
Sorry for sounding totally confusing http://www.corfid.com/ubb/confused.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/confused.gif
For example, if someone makes a post that contains only a joke, I answer with a smiley face.

I just looked back at this for the heck of it and I realized a couple of things. 1. I finally understand the title:I've uncovered my face or "broke cover". 2. I should have held up a Gordon Lightfoot CD or LP in my hand! Duh! 3.the picture's slightly green shade. Right the "WB" (Walter Borderstone) you more or less sussed it out
Actually My UK Collins Concise English Dictionary says as part of the definition of the word cover:
"28.break cover. To come out from a shelter or hiding place"
this is thus the opposite of
"27.take cover. to make for a place of safety or shelter"
which brings back memories of a 1944 German air raid and running to my grandfather's air raid shelter buried under his lawn, and seeing a house next morning up the road with its roof blown off

Anyone who tracks me down will be able to take my picture and post it on here with my permission. But, you've got to find me first. I've heard plenty of those stories how rapest get into chatrooms and pretend to be other children and then they find out info. about where other children live and then they go and rape them. For anyone like that out there, you'll never find me. But, "you are welcome to try if you like"...

I was breezing through the internet and found this site and then at random clicked into this section. I'm a Gorodon Lightfoot lover from way-way back (1968 to be exact) and always thuoght ole' Gordy was a rugged handsome brute! The guy at the top of all this here,Borderstone is it?,I got to say if I was about 20 and then some years younger,I'd be making my move! You are a downright looker! You're most likely taken though. I'm teasing,I've been married for 32 years. If I were younger and single, wooh! I have to say you have a lot of guts making yourself public on the internet! Nice to see there's still a following out there for Gordon,he deserves it more than anyone. Well,I'm going back to sleep, from North Dakota Good-day ay?

Depending on how fast he reads, your going to make his day for a few seconds and then ruin it when he finds out how 'old' you are.

Sheryl despite checking with google
I have no idea what a "Prince Valiant" fairstyle looks like**. I very recently displayed this striking picture taken in Sherborn near Boston (no "e" on the end as there is in my UK birthplace of Sherborne, Dorset England back in October. Now like most attractive ladies Susan is averse to having her pic on public display (let alone the highly imagined chance of thereby risking identity theft, death by an axe etc!
so you will have to quiz her in the chat room one week!!

Thank you, Borderstone. John, all I have seen of you is a picture that I don't believe is quite recent. I think you have what is called a "Prince Valiant" style hair-do. Post a new one -- of you and Susan - perhaps a wedding pic??
Sheryl despite checking with google
I have no idea what a "Prince Valiant" fairstyle looks like**. I very recently displayed this striking picture taken in Sherborn near Boston (no "e" on the end as there is in my UK birthplace of Sherborne, Dorset England back in October. Now like most attractive ladies Susan is averse to having her pic on public display (let alone the highly imagined chance of thereby risking identity theft, death by an axe etc!
so you will have to quiz her in the chat room one week!!

**Yes I am very gray/grey/white but only have a little thinning at the back
I do like that photo of you, John.
You wear the dapper look very well!

That's a good thing though, because it just means that person just made me feel pretty good inside & out! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Shame on you Loise and somebody else who said they knew not how to display pix here.
my earlier and somewhat derided display tutorial was good enough to get the computer challenged "domestic goddess" who moderates this forum to successfully display pix (at least until her subsequent lobotomy caused extreme memory failure anyway)
The good news is that I am about to rehash my splendid tutorial as after much researching I have found a great provider of huge (one whole gigabyte) free websites that not only allows hot-linking but also seems to have a very high file size limit
(a file of over 40MB uploaded sucessfully)
so now I can describe a fuller package)
The bad news is that I am about to take delivery of much needed upgrade components for my main desktop PC and will have to concentrate on that for a while

Well,Amie when posting a message in the big white box like I am now,all you have to do to put the proper emotion symbol where you want it is to click the option called "Smilies Legend".
This is located to the left of the box and will go to a seperate window showing the different smiley face emtions. You then choose one and follow the example next to it.
I've done this so often,I don't have to look anymore. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif Good luck! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
...& yes,I have been told by those ladies that I'm "adorable" when I turn color! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/redface.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

This may kill two birds with one stone. Another thread has asked if something related to Gord's work had the effect of bringing me to tears......
Until now I couldn't think of anything.
I sense this has to be a chance......

Okay,I'm just bringing this topic back up,because in the Small Talk section,we have the topic about twins.
Now,someone told me I resemble (overpaid :D ) actor Michael Keaton. I honestly don't see it or agree. Put it to a vote like the GL songs,I guess.
(For the record,I always thought I looked like a young Clint Eastwood. :) )
"Ya wanna say that again, punk?!
Uh oh! It's Clint! I don't think he liked my joke. Gotta run!
