Good morning all, I spent the day in Toronto yesterday with my girlfriend and one of my rituals is stopping in at Sam The Record Man ( that store has EVERYTHING! lol)

Anyway didn't spend too much time in there but I finally snagged Salute and Shadows on CD http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

These two CD's have been out a couple of years and my local stores seem kind of pathetic when it comes to Lightfoot material, so I gladly shelled out $30 for these two items.

As a side note I also stopped in at HMV Toronto on Yonge Street and they have lots of his CD's in the store including a couple of rare ones from England!

My next stop was a place called Vortex Records and collectibles on Queen St, they are almost near CITY TV..... this store has Vinyl LP's and 45's out the wazoo... so I checked their Canadian section, sure enough they had about 20 different 45's of Lightfoot including one pristine issue of The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald, took me all of 2 seconds before deciding to buy it! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I will take a picture of it and post it later http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

As well as the usual radio hits, I was stunned to find he had all these other songs that were issued as 45's.... Morning Glory for one and Salute was the other one.

Do you have the 45 Version with Bob Dylans "just Like Tom Thumbs Blues" on the back sung by Gord or House you live in?

The B Side of this is " The House You Live In" http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I've always loved downtown TO just not in the crappy wet snowy weather lol, as was the case yesterday.

I'll tell ya something Gord's song " Yonge Street" is pretty well accurate...
